Set up shipping, local pickup and delivery

Before you take your first order, you need to decide what shipping methods you want to use. This will provide your customers a delivery method at checkout.
The three main methods are shipping, local delivery, and local pickup. Your business can use any of these methods to deliver your products. We have an excellent checklist that will help you navigate the shipping setup in your store.
Shopify Shipping
If you’re based in the United States, Canada, and Australia, Shopify shipping lets you connect your Shopify account with Shopify's shipping carrier accounts, which has the following benefits:
- Display calculated shipping rates, instead of flat rates, to your customers at checkout
- Get reduced rates for your shipping labels
- Print shipping labels directly from your Shopify admin

Third party carrier-calculated shipping
If you have your own account with a shipping carrier, then you can display your negotiated shipping rates from that carrier to customers at checkout. You must have the carrier-calculated shipping feature on your Shopify plan. To learn more about Third party carrier-calculated shipping click here.
